Zak - Cancellation policies

Cancellation policies can be managed from the following section:

↳ Link: ZaK > Products > Policies > Cancellation Policies

In Zak you can create different cancellation policies that you can apply when entering reservations manually or for online sales on your Online Reception.

You can use predefined rules, which have a predefined text translated in all languages supported by Zak, or you can write your custom text. In case of custom text, you also need to translate it into all the languages you want, by clicking on the specific icon:

NOTE: As you may have noticed in the image, the Policies page also includes a section dedicated to Guarantee Methods. This is because cancellation policies are often combined with a request of a guarantee: providing CC data, pre-authorization or pre-payment. We have a dedicated article on this topic:

To create a new policy you need to define its name and type. Depending on the selected rule type, you can choose to indicate the minimum advance (in days) to cancel the reservation without penalty. You can also set the penalty value as a percentage of the reservation amount.
If you select the "Custom" type, an empty field will appear for you to type your text.

How to assign a Policy to a reservation

When you create a reservation, you can assign a cancellation policy to it. The policy's text will then appear in the reservation voucher.

In this way, you can inform your guests about a possible penalty in case of "no show" or stay modification without notice..

You can assign or edit a cancellation policy also inside the reservation detail, by clicking on the pencil:
