Zak - Overbooking

An overbooking is a situation where the total number of rooms booked for a given period exceeds the total number of rooms available for sale for the same period.

Overbooking on a room category refers to a period of time when availability is less than 0. An overbooking consists of a set of reservations that are on the same room category, where the stay periods overlap and the number exceeds the availability. In short, the number of stays is greater than the number of physical rooms.

ZaK automatically detects overbooked reservations and displays them in the following section:

↳ Useful LinkZaK > Reservations > Overview > Overbooking

Select a row from the list and click on , you can choose to access the details screen or open the planner.

The overbooking details page at the top shows the reservation responsible for the overbooking, followed by:

  • Source: where it comes from (Channel Manager, YouBook, Zak API, etc.).

  • Financial value, number of people, date of creation, and dates of stay.

  • Rooms involved: listed specifically for that reservation.

Immediately below, you will see a list of reservations for the same room type, which therefore generate a conflict.

Here too, you will find details such as the source, amount, dates, and rooms reserved.

On this page, in the side column, you can see the section dedicated to operational intervention.

This allows you to select the reservation and the room to be changed. It offers a list of available alternatives, with a numerical indication of how many rooms are available for each type.

You can filter the available rooms and decide whether to view only those with enough availability. Once you have selected your alternative, you can confirm the change to your reservation.
