ZaK - How to disconnect a channel: pause and removal

Pausing a channel

If you want to interrupt a channel's connection only for a certain period (keeping the configuration saved if you reactivate it in the future), you can pause it by clicking on the "Suspend" button at the following section:

    ↳ Link: ZaK > Sales > Channels > Channels

Once paused, the channel will have a red warning and the "Unsuspend" button:

The pause interrupts the generation of costs; the updates of prices, restrictions and availability of rooms to the portal; and the integration of reservations in ZaK. About reservations received from the portals during the pause, you can force their download from the following section, so that the availability in ZaK is correctly updated:

    ↳ Link: ZaK > Sales > Channels > Ghosts

! WARNING: Pausing a channel does not technically interrupt the sales of rooms on the portal.

This can have consequences because some portals, like Booking.com, prevent you from acting manually on their extranet (to change prices, restrictions, and availability) when a channel manager is connected. If you want your sale to remain closed on the portal as long as the channel is paused, remember to close it through the channel manager before pausing the channel!

Please note:  If instead you want to manage the channel manually by accessing your OTA account, first you need to disconnect the channel manager from the portal extranet!

Removing a channel

To permanently remove a channel, you can click on the "Remove" button inside each channel box, at the following section:

↳ Link: ZaK > Sales > Channels > Channels

! WARNING: For portals like Booking.com, which prevent you from manually acting on their extranet (to change prices, restrictions, and availability) when a channel manager is connected, you need to disconnect the channel manager directly from the portal extranet! So it's not enough to remove the channel in ZaK, you'll also need to disconnect the Channel Manager on the OTA!
