What is it?
Trivago is a major international metasearch engine, and ZaK technology allows you to launch a promotional campaign on Trivago. Your website will also appear on the Trivago portal, and guests will be able to book directly on your booking engine!
What's more, this connection will allow you to integrate portal reservations on ZaK and update prices, restrictions, and availability, all automatically.
Costs and Business Model
The cost of Trivago on the ZaK side is equivalent to that of a new Channel Manager connection (the cost will vary depending on the number of active connections).
By accessing the Rate Connect section of the Trivago Business Studio Portal, you can select the WuBook Channel Manager, start the Rate Connect campaign, and choose the commission level you wish to apply:
How is your website displayed on Trivago?
By accessing the Trivago interface as if you were a user, you will see your website and the option to click on the “See Offer” or “Go to website” button. By clicking on it, you will be redirected to your Booking Engine (ZaK PMS Online Reception):
Requirements before proceeding

- The ZaK PMS Online Reception must be subscribed to.
- Check that the information about your property entered on WuBook matches that entered on Trivago Business Studio (property name, address, city, and GPS coordinates).

How to activate Trivago?
Let's now look at the steps to follow in ZaK to synchronize your calendar with Trivago Business Studio.
1. Add the channel
First, you need to add the channel by clicking on the + in the following menu:
↳ Useful link: ZaK > Sales > Channels > Add a new channel
2. Check your property information
By default, we will send Trivago the information about your property that you entered in the OPTIONS section of the channel, i.e. the property name, address, and GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude):
↳ Useful link: Administration > Properties > Property details
3. Enable rooms and rates
In the “PRODUCTS” section, you will find all your accommodations created on ZaK, multiplied by the various rates you have. Click on the icon to enable the products and rates you want to display on Trivago:
This way, ZaK will show the rooms and rates that are enabled (and colored blue) when the channel is active.
At any time, if you deem it necessary, you can quickly close the room sale by clicking on the icon (you will see the product colored purple again):
4. Activating the Rate Connect campaign on the Trivago Business Studio portal
At this point, you will have completed the configuration in ZaK and can access Trivago Business Studio, in the Rate Connect section, to select WuBook as your Booking Engine and request activation of the campaign. If this step is not yet available, you will need to wait approximately 7 days for WuBook to send your property to Trivago and then try again to activate the Rate Connect campaign, as shown in the screenshot below:
How do I deactivate Trivago?
To deactivate Trivago, simply delete the channel in ZaK (from the Online>Channels menu) by clicking on “remove.” Also remember to suspend the campaign from the Trivago Business Studio portal, in the Rate Connect section.
What should you check if Trivago isn't working?
- Is the Rate Connect campaign enabled on the Trivago Business Studio portal?
- When did you enable the Trivago channel on ZaK? Have you waited at least 7 days?
- Is the ZaK channel perhaps suspended?
- Is ZaK's Online Reception subscribed?
- Is the information about your property the same as what you entered on Trivago's Business Studio portal (property name, address, GPS coordinates)?
