How to configure the Reservation model - WooDoo

By reservation model, we mean how a customer who books with WooDoo can guarantee and thus confirm his/her reservation.

You can choose one of the following models:


  • Pay Later: with this model, no credit card is required as guarantee. The reservation is not guaranteed and is not confirmed, but is in "waiting for approval" status. From the reservation detail page, the hotelier can accept or refuse the request. The guest, who created the reservation, is aware that it is not confirmed and that the hotelier can accept or reject it. You can also request a bank transfer or a deposit as guarantee.

  • Credit Card: guest is asked to leave his/her credit card details to guarantee the reservation. The reservation is automatically confirmed. Both the guest and the property will receive a reservation's notification by email.


  • Pay Later or Credit Card: this reservation model allows the guest to choose between the "Credit Card" model and the "Pay Later" model. At the last step of the booking process, guests can choose whether to enter their credit card details to create an immediately confirmed reservation, or not leave the CC details and wait for a contact from the hotelier.

  • Payment Gateway: an immediate payment is requested upon booking confirmation. This model requires a payment gateway, such as Paypal, to be configured in WooDoo. If the payment through the gateway is not successful, the reservation will still enter but in the "waiting for approval" status.



  • Payment Gateway or Credit Card: this reservation model allows the guest to choose between the "Credit Card" and "Immediate Payment" models. At the last step of the booking process, the guest will be able to choose whether only to enter the data of his/her credit card, or to make the requested payment immediately. In both cases, the reservation will be created as "confirmed". Obviously, this method also requires the configuration of a payment gateway in WooDoo and, if the payment through the gateway is not successful, the reservation still enters the "waiting for approval" status.


To enable the "Credit Card", "Pay Later or Credit Card" and "Payment Gateway or Credit Card" models, a password must first be configured in order to view credit card data.

The Reservation model only concerns the WooDoo direct booking engine: it does not in any way influence the OTA connected to the channel manager.

Even if a reservation enters in "waiting for approval" status, this still commits the availability. So if You decide to accept it, You will be sure that the rooms requested by the guest are still available.

We suggest You to use the "Pay later or Credit Card" model, as it allows the entry of reservations both from those who want immediate confirmation, and from those who do not have a credit card or do not use one on the internet.
